FArt Club (Friendship Art Club) was born out of A LOT of immaturity, A LOT of friendship and a little bit of a shared love of art.
Did She Say Fart?!
Every year, Hillier Gardens in Romsey puts on Art In The Garden. It is a beautiful event, where the grounds are full of 100s of fabulous sculptures from a whole range brilliantly talented artists. To advertise the event and make sure people knew where it was, they put up road signs saying ‘Art In The Garden’ around the town. Then, some rebel with black electrical tape went and stuck up the letter F at the front of all the signs.
When one of my friends suggested the idea of getting together to do our own art club, the only name we could think of for it was FArt, inspired by the Hilliers sign. Then the only thing left to was to come up with an excuse to put the letter F there, so the ‘official title’ is Friendship Art Club! 🙂
F Art Club Who’s Who
Fart Club is me, India and Kelly. We met a few years ago through our children and have been good friends ever since. We all have different artistic strengths and weaknesses, so there’s lots we want to learn from each other.
Human portraits are definitely not a strength of mine so I struggled a bit with drawing each other for the first ever FArt task. Next week we’re doing local landscapes, with a bit of a Christmas theme, so stay tuned to see how we get on.
Apart from these first portraits, all future original artwork produced on FArt Night will be signed by the artist and go up for sale for £10 on my shop so please check it out if you want to get your hands on one of them.
