The Rabbitswood Project provides an opportunity for enquiry based learning for those of you who look at the world and ask why? how? what?…etc! I am excited to announce that I am now available for tutoring during school hours. So please get in touch if you’re interested. I hold a full DBS check and have had many years teaching lots of different subjects, ages and abilities.
I did my teacher training degree at St. Martins College in the beautiful Lake District town of Ambleside and completed teaching placements in a wide range of schools all over the Lakes and one on The Isle Of Mann (where my ancestors used to teach). Since graduating I have taught in both primary and secondary schools and have been SENCO, Child Protection Officer, Designated Teacher For Looked After Children, EAL Coordinator…etc. etc! I completed my SENCO Accreditation at Winchester University (while I was pregnant with my first daughter), so I have been able to wear the funny graduation robes and hat twice!
I have taught in all the school year groups and have also run a Nurture Group and delivered group and 1:1 interventions. …I guess what I’m trying to say is I have had a VERY diverse (and slightly unusual) teaching career and have a lot of education experience. I am used to thinking on my feet and planning fun and engaging activities for any age group, subject or ability and will tailor any tasks to suit the individual needs of your child.
Currently, I can only do tutoring during school day hours due to childcare, but if you do want me to work with you then I am happy to discuss ways we could make this work.
